Player Ratings- Lo Celso flops, Emery tactics backfire

Paris Saint-Germain were beaten 3-1 at the Bernabeu by Real Madrid and the visitors’ Spanish coach, Unai Emery, came copped a fair bit of criticism for his tactics. Emery opted to start with rising star Giovani Lo Celso in midfield against Los Blancos, and the Argentine had one of his poorest games in a Paris jersey. Emery also chose to bench captain Thiago Silva and go with young Kimpembe to partner Marquinhos in the heart of defence.

Real Madrid vs PSG- Paris to face defending champions in Round of 16

Paris Saint-Germain’s “reward” for topping their Champions League group is a clash against mighty Real Madrid in the Round of 16. The Parisians faced Barcelona in the Round of 16 last season- an epic two legged clash which saw the Catalans overturn a 4-0 lead from the first leg, and will now square off against the defending champions this season. Hazard Voted French Player Of The Year

Exciting Lille midfielder Eden Hazard has been voted the French Player of the Year by his peers.

The 20-year-old Hazard, who has been the subject of much transfer speculation from Arsenal, Real Madrid and Spurs, was instrumental in Lille winning the double of the Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France this season.

Hazard scored seven goals and created nine assists this season. He made his Lille debut as a 16-year-old and recently signed a new contract with the club until 2015.

Hazard had won the Young Player of the Year over the past two seasons. He won Sunday’s award ahead of teammate Moussa Sow – the league’s top scorer – Lorient forward Kevin Gameiro and Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Nene.
