Bob Bradley’s Le Havre were denied promotion as Metz squeaked through on goals scored after a dramatic final round of fixtures in Ligue 2.
Metz suffered a 1-0 loss to Lens, while Le Havre hammered Bourg en Brasse 5-0. The two results meant that both Metz and Bob Bradley’s side were tied on points and goal difference, but the former’s 54 goals scored (in comparison to Le Havre’s 52) saw them finish ahead of their rivals and join champions Nancy and Dijon in the top flight.
