French defender Clement Lenglet’s Barcelona crashed out of the Champions League in spectacular fashion as they lost 4-0 to Liverpool in the second leg of their UCL semifinal at Anfield.

Barca’s centre back pairing of Lenglet and Gerard Pique were unable to stop the Reds from scoring four, and the way their defences switched off for goals 3 and 4 would’ve been particularly disappointing for manager Ernesto Valverde to watch.

L’Equipe’s ratings for the evening had Lenglet at a 3/10. Horror day for the Barca defence- no one got more than 3.

Here is the French press (L’Equipe)’s player ratings for the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal between Barcelona and Manchester United. A number of French players were in action- Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial from Man Utd and Clement Lenglet from Barca. The United duo got 4 and 3 respectively, while the Barcelona centre back got a 6.

Overall, United were rated as 3.6 as a team, while Barcelona were given a 6.4

Also below the L’Equipe ratings are the Marca ones (from Spain), just for comparison. Martial doesn’t even earn a rating in Marca, while Pogba gets a single star. Lenglet, according to Marca, was the best Barcelona player on show last night along with Lionel Messi, who grabbed a brace for the Catalans.
