French media player ratings for Man Utd- Red Devils criticised after PSG loss

For the first time in their history, Manchester United lost a European knockout tie at Old Trafford by more than a goal after Paris SG emerged 2-0 winners at the Theatre of Dreams in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie. Despite missing key players like Neymar and Edinson Cavani, Thomas Tuchel’s side were too good for the Red Devils as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suffered his first defeat as MUFC manager.

French newspaper L’Equipe wasn’t too kind to the Red Devils, with around half their squad polling a 3/10 (Pogba, Lindelof, Matic, Herrera and Lingard), indicating that the home side’s midfield failed to execute their plans. The highest ranked United player was skipper and right back Ashley Young, who got a 6. No PSG player got below six, and Thiago Silva and Angel di Maria both got 8’s.

OGS himself got a 4/10 manager rating, while his opposite number Tuchel was awarded a 7/10 for masterminding a famous PSG win.
