Nimes dominated the Ligue 1 Team of the Week, with more than half of the team drawn from the side that beat Dijon 4-0.
Nimes left midfielder Denis Bouanga, who netted a brace in that win, has also found himself named in Italian paper Gazzetta’s European Team of the Week. Bouanga is one of three Ligue 1 representatives in GDS’ XI, the other beings Nantes’ Emiliano Sala and Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos. Interestingly, neither Marquinhos nor Sala found themselves in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week.
Like France, England’s Premier League also had three representatives, with West Ham’s Felipe Anderson, who starred in their Hammers’ 4-2 win over Burnley, joined by Andy Robertson and Raheem Sterling.
Spain’s La Liga with two and Germany’s Bundesliga with 3 made up the rest of Gazzetta’s Team of the Week
