There were three French teams in the group stages of the Europa League and all three qualified for the Round of 32 as runners up- Lyon behind Atalanta, Nice behind Lazio and Marseille behind Red Bull Salzburg.

There could have been a fourth Ligue 1 representative in the Round of 32 had Monaco atleast managed to finish third in their Champions League group, but the principality outfit finished last and bowed out of Europe altogether.

Lyon will face Spanish opposition in the form of Villarreal while Nice and Marseille will face Lokomotiv Moscow and Braga in the Round of 32.
