Young Schalke midfielder Amine Harit, capped by France at various youth levels (U18, U19, U20 and U21), has officially decided to pledge his international future to Morocco.
Harit, 20, revealed his decision via social media. Born in Pontoise, the medio came through the ranks at Nantes before transferring to the Royal Blues earlier this summer for 8 million euros. He had earlier rejected a call up to the Moroccan U19 team back in 2015.
Moroccan coach Herve Renard has also identified Aymen Barkok and Abdelhamid Sabiri as potential targets for the national team.
Harit has made three league appearances for Schalke at the time of writing, and even provided an assist for Guido Burgstaller in S04’s 3-1 win over Stuttgart on Sunday.
